Good time to consider a China trade mark: fees halved
It has just been announced that the China Trade Mark Office have halved all of their official fees.
As previously reported on The Trademarkroom blog, China have been named one of the most protected countries in relation to trade marks for a 15th year.
Now seems to be the best time to take advantage of this, as the official fees for the Chinese Trade Mark Office have been halved.
There is no indication that this is a temporary measure so it seems that these lower fees will be around for a while.
If you have been considering protecting your mark in that area of the world, now is your chance.
The fees now are as follows:
A trade mark application for each class will now cost RMB 300 (approx. £35)
A renewal of a trade mark application will now cost RMB 1000 per class (approx. £116)
An appeal procedure before the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board will now cost RMB 750 (approx. £87)
And an opposition filing will cost RMB 500 (approx. £58)
These fees do not, of course include legal fees but The Trademarkroom pride themselves on being cost effective for their clients. There will be no fees that have not been fully explained to you and nothing will be done without your authority.
The Trademarkroom are client focused, therefore you are in the driving seat.
