From the 1st January 2017, the 11th edition of the international classification of goods and services system will come into force, known as the NICE system.

Every five years, the system is updated with goods moving to different classes and the introduction of new goods onto the system as to their relevant class.

The beginning of the New Year sees the end of the previous five year spell.
