The best way to start your overseas trademark protection is with a CTM (Community Trademark) application in the EU. This is one application in one language with one fee that if successful will grant you protection in 28 member states- including the UK.

Search and Advice Report

We can carry out a pre filing trademark search and advice report of the CTM register for £50+VAT or £100+VAT for a report on all the individual EU countries. All fees are non refundable so a report will tell us all we need to know and if we should proceed to application. We will also draft the classes in the report that you will need. Free searches are available but they merely provide a list of results which doesn’t always provide a full or accurate position.

Costs for filing an EU Trademark

Our fixed fee is £300+VAT

OHIM (the CTM office) will charge you 900 Euro for up to 3 classes and 150 Euro for each class above 3.

If we follow the fast track procedure (no extra cost) then it is possible to obtain an EU registered trademark in about 4 months. Generally though we give a time frame of between 4-9 months.

If you wish to file in other countries we can either file direct in that country or if appropriate through the International Trademark system at the Madrid Protocol. Both methods have their pros and cons so best to get in touch for a consultation before proceeding.

We also have our own U.S attorney who can file direct in both American and Canada.
