When developing a trade mark and submitting an application, it is important to ensure you can all the steps you can to give yourself the best chance of success

One of these steps that many of you may not be aware of is a trade mark search.

A trade mark search is completed to ensure that your potential mark is free to register.

It will also ensure that you will not be hit with an infringement claim further into the process.

This search does have a fee attached and while this may seem an unnecessary expense, it is essential to complete so there are no nasty surprises.

There are different searches you can purchase that will give you levels of detail.

The Trademarkroom can take the pressure of your hands and conduct the search for you.

There is a free search available to you however this is a wide ranging search and does not give any pinpointed information.

We recommend that you opt for a search that has a reasonable fee attached as this will give a clearer view of any potential problematic existing marks
