If you have a business name/brand then you have a trademark. Trademarkroom, is a registered trademark. A trademark identifies who you are and sets you out from your competitors.

It’s not compulsory to obtain a registered trademark to run a business- and not all trademarks will be eligible for protection. If your brand is distinctive and unique then you may be able to apply for a registered trademark in the country of choice ( i.e. where you are trading).

It’s best to start with a search and advice report to asses whether a) your brand is eligible for protection and b) it’s available for protection. If it is- then you can apply to register.

What are the advantages of securing a registered trademark?

If successful, you will have a monopoly of the words/logo you have applied for.

It makes it much easier to prevent trademark infringement if you have a registered trademark.

It becomes your property so you can sell it/license it/franchise it.

It increases the value of your brand

No third party could register a confusingly similar mark in the same goods and services.

Take legal action against anyone who uses your brand without your permission, including counterfeiters.
